Write my own script of a short play!

It is a big challenge for me to come out with my own script. I have to work on it. I need to choose the best idea to write the script. I never write script before and I'm not really confident in writing a script. The first draft of my script has done. I think there are a lot of things need to be improved. When I write the script, I notice that it is not easy to script. From the moment I want to start the work, I keep struggling to find an attractive idea as play's theme. I think about it almost 2 weeks to get the idea. Another challenge that I face is to come out with a good story. After I have the idea, I stuck with the story line. I don't know how to make it interesting. Should I put the sense of humor inside or should I write in tragic? Those questions lead me to think further. To get the answer, I watch a lot of movies and dramas as my research. It is hard to come out with my originality.

In addition, I have to think about the mood or tone of the story. It makes me realize that the play is not only about acting, the mood is needed as well. The mood will make the story alive. Then, I notice that the mood is significant in a play. So, I cannot ignore the mood of my play. Whatever it is, I will keep working on it. I will improve my script. I want to make it better.

Acting?

In tutorial class,we did our discussions about three short plays which were 'The Ring Doesn't Fit', 'The Ring', and 'Mr.Pederson'. the most interesting thing was the presentation. As usual, we were required to present the result of our discussions. We have to present it by acting the plays. I've been chosen to act as 'Mother'; one of a character in 'The Ring Doesn't Fit'. it was fun and I enjoy it. I admitted that I quite nervous to act the character. I was nervous at the beginning but I could manage my nervous when I read more lines in that play. It was nice and I really enjoyed it.

It was different if we just read the script without practice it. If we read the script and then act the play, you could feel the enjoyment. In fact, by acting the play, I could understand the play clearer. It was good for me and of course for everyone too. My first impression about this course have changed. I still remember what I've said when the tutor asked me about my literature exposure. I replied,"I don't like literature, but I'm struggling to fall in love with literature". Now, I realize that I do like literature and I do like drama as well.

Theatre??

Theatre is a play that performed by actors live in front of audiences. Props are used as the setting of the play to help audiences to see where and when the play takes place.
Theatre is purposely for entertainment. In many years back, upper class people love to watch plays. It was like their culture to enjoy theatres. They usually entertain themselves by watching play and they were placed near to the stage while people in lower class also have chances to watch the plays but they were placed at farer seats from stage. In fact, theatre is one way to educate people. The present of implicit manners in plays assist audiences to see the lessons. The playwrights commonly insert moral values or messages in their plays. The actors will put their efforts to convey the messages and it will be presented in verbal or non verbal. Then, the audiences will learn something. Plays also gave chances to audience to see and learn other societies’ cultures, attitudes, and beliefs. There are many plays that came with the idea of societal.
They do theater to earn money. It had become a job or career. Good plays will promise a lot of profits. Besides, some playwrights involved themselves in this career because they wanted to share their thoughts and experiences. The plays usually written based on human experiences. Another reason is for entertainment. Theatre is one of beautiful arts and most of people love it and of course it has esthetic values. They do it for entertainment and in the same time they try to convey some messages to all audiences for education purposes.
Well, theatre is different from cinema. Obviously, theatre is performed live in front of audience while cinema usually plays the prerecorded movies. For example, if we watch a play for the 1st time it is performed, it will be slightly different if we watch it for the 2nd time. But in cinema, we can watch the same movie again and again with no differences. One more important thing that all audiences need to remember is the etiquettes of attending the theatre; audiences will keep silent and focus on the play. On the other hand, in cinema, the audiences do not have particular rules to follow such as they are allowed to bring food and drinks while watching movie.
Theatre is out dated is not true. Theatre existed for many centuries till now. Even though not everyone interested in theatre, it still active nowadays. We can see the plays in all over the world and of course in tons of versions as well. So then the idea of out dated is definitely not right.
